Four Questions to Ask Your Textile Representative
Interior designers and architects add value for their clients by providing textiles. If you are obtaining fabric from a trade resource, here are four questions to ask your sales representative or manufacturer’s rep:
- What is the lead time?��While it’s not a fun detail to bring up, it is important to know how long it will take for the fabric to arrive. Ask your salesperson to include shipping time in his/her estimate.
- What is the fiber content?��As you know, different fibers perform in different ways. If you are specifying a commercial fabric, ask your sales rep what the rub count is. And give them time to research the answer for you.

- Do you have “talking points” for me to tell me client? Clients seem to be asking more questions than ever. If you have a few facts memorized about each selection, it will help you convincingly present that selection to your client.
